A Mashpee man faces several charges after a wild incident where a stolen car crashed through a garage bay door, injuring the shop owner. According to police, a man arrived at Town Auto Repair Shop in Dennis Port and told workers that people were following him and wanted to kill him. Auto Shop owner Nas Mahfouz told the man to wait inside the garage.Nas Mahfouz called 911, the man, later identified as Joshua LaFrange, 29, hopped into a customer vehicle inside the garage, police said. Workers tried to stop LaFrange from leaving, but he drove the red hatchback through the closed garage door. Mahfouz, who was outside on the phone, was hit by the vehicle. He said he was hit in the knee and dragged for a short distance before pushing himself off the hood. Mahfouz said he was sore, but nothing was broken. Dennis police said LaFrange drove to Harwich where he followed a woman into her driveway, telling her he was being kidnapped. LaFrange was arrested when the woman called 911. LaFrange was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, destruction of property more than $1,200 for the garage door and assault and battery with a deadly weapon. He was held on $750 bail at his arraignment.
