Ferrari stolen from ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star Jennifer Aydin’s garage in Paramus

PARAMUS, New Jersey (WABC) — A Ferrari was stolen from the garage of a “Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star in Paramus over the weekend.

Jennifer Aydin posted videos of three suspects stealing the car, with police saying they gained access to the home via a garage door opener in an unlocked car in the driveway.

“They stole the Ferrari,” Aydin wrote. “My kids and parents and other friends were all home. Please send any info to Paramus PD.”

It happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday at the family’s home on Alpine Drive, where police were called to a report of a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim’s teenage son, who reported that when he arrived home, he observed his parents’ 2016 Ferrari speeding away from their home and that their garage doors were all open.

“My son calls us and says, he’s 17 years old, his name is Justin, and he said, ‘Mom, they just took the Ferrari,'” Aydin told Eyewitness News in an exclusive interview from a Miami airport before she headed back to New Jersey.

Aydin said nine family members were home at the time, and they knew right away that something was wrong when they heard the engine of her husband’s Ferrari roar.

“When Justin pulled up, he crossed their paths,” she said. “He saw them. It was a white SUV behind the Ferrari, and as soon as he pulled into the driveway, they sped away.”

In one video, the suspects can be seen in walking in her driveway, where the got the garage door opener from an unlocked car.

Surveillance cameras from inside the garage show them removing the cover and stealing the Ferrari. Aydin immediately posted it on her Instagram page.

“I was like, listen, I do have a platform,” she said. “So if I put it out there, maybe there’s enough heat on these perpetrators. Maybe they’ll get scared.”

Police said the investigation revealed that at least three suspects arrived at the home in an unknown white SUV.

They used the garage door opener in the vehicle to gain access to the home, then entered and stole the Ferrari California, which was located in the garage with the keys in it.

“All of the suspects had ski masks on,” Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said. “We were able to determine from the investigation the three had arrived in the SUV.”

The suspects also stole several small items from the garage.

“We planned this trip because Bill and I had somewhat of a rough season this year on ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” Aydin said. “And we filmed the reunion on Thursday and going away, sort of a celebration to ourselves for getting through it.”

Police found the car abandoned in Essex County Monday morning. The three men, however, are still unidentified.

“They took our Yeezy’s,” Aydin said. “They can have it. My kids are safe. My family’s safe.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Paramus Police Department at 201-262-3400.
